Four-time UEFA Champions League Winner Marcelo Vieira Teams Up With Bag Brand Db
Coming in the footballer’s lucky color.

Winner of ‘Best Left Back in the World’ title for six consecutive years, Real Madrid and Brazilian international Marcelo Vieira has partnered with Scandinavian bag start-up brand Douchebags (also known as ‘Db’) to release a range of versatile bags. Eschewing Db’s normally understated color palette, Vieira’s range arrives in a distinctive shade of purple, namely PANTONE 19-3528 TCX. Chosen by the footballer for being his ‘lucky’ color since he first saw it on the kits of the LA Lakers, it’s a shade that has become synonymous with the footballer. Marcelo insists on wearing a wristband in his lucky purple in all his matches and so it was the natural choice for his first collection of backpacks and luggage as no other color captured his personal journey better.
“I’m excited to work with brands who find the crossover between sport and design,” says Vieira,
“and this color collection is a fun way to start making the kind of products that I go to everyday.” For the campaign, Vieira’s team visited and transformed a community football pitch in his native city of Rio De Janeiro, painting it in his signature color.
All six bags arrive in limited quantities from September 1, available on the Db webstore, where you can also check out the full campaign starring Vieira.
