Nike Unveils Mbappé’s Mercurial Superfly Rosa
A modernized take on the original 2008 silhouette.

Nike has signed on Kylian Mbappé for a vibrant Mercurial Superfly Rosa. As the name of the shoe suggests, Mbappé’s player edition is dressed in a bright rose-tinged palette — a timely resurrection of Nike’s 2008 Nike Mercurial Vapor Rosa — during one of Paris Saint-Germain‘s biggest matches within the forward’s club career.
The shoe comes with a sleek mold, constructed with an intricate Flyknit weave that’s been dyed pink. Reflective “KM” branding is stamped at the tongue, followed by a set of tonal laces that cover the forefoot. At the sidewalls, leading all the way up to the toes, is a large white Swoosh with thin silver-toned outlines that’s been done in the shape of a lightning bolt. All of these details rest over a durable chrome-plated outsole optimized for maximum traction on the field.
Mbappé’s inspiration for the design comes from the original 2008 model he saw on the feet of his favorite players: “I wanted those boots so badly, I begged my parents to get some and they told me that if I worked really hard and did well at school for long enough I could get these beautiful boots. I listened to my parents and worked so hard that in the end, they had to get them for me. I was so happy! Now, I am so pleased that Nike have created my second product collection with these special boots for the biggest club match of my career! What a dream to wear them. They are the new versions of the pink boots I loved when I was a young boy and this is so special for me to work to achieve my dreams in these boots.”
The Nike Mercurial Superfly Mbappé Rosa will be available on August 31 on Nike’s website — prices have yet to be confirmed.
