Japan Railways and Pixar Preps 'Toy Story'-Themed Bullet Train
Celebrating the franchise’s 25th-anniversary.

As the 25th anniversary of Pixar‘s Toy Story franchise nears, railway company JR (Japan Railways) is gearing up to create a special Pixar-themed bullet train. The new train will be exclusive to southern Japan, on the island of Kyushu, running between stations in Hakata, Kumamoto and Kagoshima.
Pixar’s iconic lamp will be placed near the nose train, followed by prints of Toy Story‘s most notable characters like Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie along its body. A vibrant assembly of colorful shapes will be set behind the characters, representing all the different prefectures that makeup Kyushu. The inside of the train will also be decorated with the brightly colored Kyushu patterns — seat covers feature characters Wall-E, Nemo and Dory. Those who ride the train will be given an original flag and a special commemoration certificate.
The train will start its rounds on September 12, 12:19 p.m. JST from Hakata station.
