Pared-Back Minimalist Codes Inform Untitled Collective's SS21 Collection

Organic textiles and architectural shapes elevate seasonal staples.

As Untitled Collective realizes its fourth collection for Spring/Summer 2021, the New York-based artist collective continues to expand its vision of workwear for the creative sect. Top-shelf construction and organic textiles inform a bevy of voluminous, comfort-first silhouettes that dovetail with the brand’s forthcoming Fall/Winter 2020 goods, accompanied here by another brief selection of accessories.

Taking cues from contrasting conceits (fluidity and structure, vulnerability and resistance), the garments are effectively free from gendered constraints. Generous hooded coats, leather vests, collarless jackets and a flowing take on a track jacket encourage playful layering, while shin-length shorts and deeply pleated pants shift proportions to ground the generous garments above. Untitled Collective’s raincoats and jumpsuits gently subvert timeless workwear silhouettes — the jumpsuit, for instance, offers a trim torso, baggy legs and cargo pockets positioned to uphold the clean lines — while baggy tailoring and convertible helmet bags ensure sleek shapes free from ostentatious detailing.

Keep up with Untitled Collective’s Instagram for updates on the emerging brand, which is currently exclusively stocked in Japan and South Korea.
