KUON Offers Closer Look at FW20 Collection's Elegantly Tattered Craft
The Japanese label highlighted the patchwork wares across New York.
After showcasing its Spring/Summer 2021 wares, KUON returns with a fresh look at Fall/Winter 2020. First seen back in February, the offering is classic KUON, delivering relaxed silhouettes informed by progressive textiles and hands-on treatments.
As usual for KUON, the collection centers around classic menswear silhouettes elevated by thoughtful construction. Outerwear includes an indigo-dipped leather rider’s jacket and bomber jackets that feature salt-shrunken nylon shells and sakiori-trimmed plackets, for instance, with more sakiori paneling and boro patchwork appearing on otherwise understated cardigans, sweaters and slacks. Worn-in workwear, like washed denim jackets and KUON’s signature heavily-patched tailoring, accompanies items that draw from tradition, like collarless down jackets and thickly-woven vests.

Elsewhere in Japan, alk phenix showcased its high-tech cold weather wearables.
