Aside from his recent Gap YEEZY news, Kanye West has returned for another big surprise, announcing his 2020 presidential run.
Taking to Twitter, ‘Ye celebrated the Fourth of July by officially announce his bid to become the President of the United States. “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! Finishing off his message with an American flag emoji and the hashtag #2020VISION.
Shortly after the announcement, the news took over the headlines with Elon Musk endorsing Kanye’s run noting that he has his “full support!” But many are noting that it is too late to get on the ballot as an independent candidate in many states. It is currently unclear if Kanye’s “official” presidential bid will really come to fruition.
For a while now chatter has popped up about the rapper looking into running for president and his ties to politics, having a number of meetings with current president Donald Trump.
