Clarks Wallabees Are Taken Apart and Put Back Together In a New Collection
A three-piece collaborative release with Canadian store Better Gift Shop.

Better Gift Shop and Clarks Originals have linked up with master embroiders Chris and Clayton Griggs — also known as the Griggs Brothers — and Joshua Joseph, for a unique twist on the classic Clarks Wallabee shoe.
From mods and rockers, ravers, rap artists and even Jamaican culture, this famous silhouette has been worn and adopted by subcultures globally, and continues to be today.
For this collaboration, inspiration has been drawn from 1970s souvenir patches, with each shoe reinterpreted with a feeling of nostalgia using original artwork by designer Jason Rodman on the upper. During construction, each shoe was deconstructed by hand and expertly embroidered, before being reconstructed and re-threaded back together.
Joshua Joseph — a famed creative — was integral in this design process and is the son of designer Opio Chung, whose studio was used to film and shoot the accompanying film and editorial.
The Better Wallabees arrive in “Maple”, black and khaki colorways and will be available via the Better Gift Shop web store from July 11, 2020.
