Versace Releases New Merch for Pride

With a portion of sales supporting LGBTQ+ charities.

To celebrate Pride Month, Versace has launched a limited-edition capsule collection for men and women in support of the LGBTQ+ community.

The collection, in line with most Pride-themed collections, is heavy on rainbow colors; the colorway adorns items including Versace-branded bucket hats, baseball caps, and pool slides. Alongside those pieces are boxer shorts with a rainbow-colored waistband, and a pair of athletic socks featuring Versace branding and more rainbows.

While many fashion brands are quick to release Pride merchandise in June, Versace’s connection to the LGBTQ+ community is more significant: in 2019, Donatella Versace was named a Stonewall Ambassador and appeared alongside Lady Gaga at last year’s celebrations. The house has long been a staunch supporter of gay rights, in part because its founder, Gianni Versace, was gay.

From sales in the United States, an unspecified portion of funds from this year’s merchandise will go to Pride Live, supporting their work with a number of organisations including Trans LifeLine and the Brave Space Alliance.

In Europe, donations will be made to Arcigay, an Italian organisation that works to combat violence, discrimination, and the violation of human and civil rights of LGBTQ+ people.

The collection is available now at Versace’s web store and in selected Versace boutiques.

In other Pride news, Vans has released a “love letter” to the LGBTQ+ skate community.
