Shawn Kemp's Reebok Kamikaze II Receives Vibrant "U.S.A." Palette
A tri-colored iteration of the ‘95 silhouette.
Shawn Kemp’s Reebok Kamikaze II has been given a bold design that nods to America’s national colors. The silhouette was first introduced during the 1995-1996 NBA season at, what is widely considered, the height of Kemp’s athletic prowess, leading the SuperSonics, with Payton, to a franchise-record 64 wins.
Starting at the top of the silhouette is a shiny 3M panel at the tongue, complemented by bold “Reebok” embroidery. Breathable mesh panels appear at the tongue, contrasted against round navy rope laces that share the same tone as the lush suede panels along the upper quarters and forefoot. A striking “Vector Red” palette appears along the rear quarter and heel, while a jagged white full-grain leather patch is sewn across the sidewalls. All of these details sit atop a chunky monochromatic midsole, accomodating the vivid patterns of the uppers.
Reebok Kamikaze II’s “U.S.A.” colorway is currently available on Reebok AU’s website for $200 AUD; it’ll hit Reebok US in the coming weeks for $120 USD.
