Palm Angels Drops Duo of Palm-Appliquéd Vulcanized Sneakers
The Italian brand is taking the “Palm” part of its name quite literally with these new summer styles.
Francesco Ragazzi‘s Palm Angels is back with new footwear for Summer 2020, namely a duo of palm-appliquéd vulcanized sneakers. A high-end Italian take on classic California cool, the silhouette seems to draw equally from Vans‘ Old Skool and Bold Ni, but bolsters its status with a luxurious mix of materials.
One pair puts forth a high-contrast mix of white and black, while the other tones things down a bit by combining black and silver. Each also supplies an artful assemblage of materials: uppers are built from leather with a swooping suede overlay that wraps around the toebox and heel while cresting on the midfoot, and tongues kick it old school with an exposed foam construction and Old English branding.
Signature detail is provided by an appliquéd palm tree, which covers the quarter before its trunk drops onto the midsole and encircles the heel. This extra layer is played up further by a contrasting foxing stripe on each midsole, and simple rubber outsoles complete the style.
The Palm Angels Palm-Appliquéd Vulcanized Sneakers are available now at retailers like Harvey Nichols, and are priced at $265 USD per pair.
