A New Trailer for ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ Emphasizes the Codes of the Samurai
“Live, fight, and die with honor.”
The latest trailer for Sucker Punch’s upcoming samurai action game Ghost of Tsushima has been released on YouTube, ahead of its release in July.
While the one-minute cinematic clip doesn’t contain any new gameplay footage, it highlights the title’s focus on the samurai codes of honor, the game’s emphasis on sword combat, and the visuals for the its feudal Japanese setting.
The text accompanying the trailer reads, “Tsushima is on the brink of destruction. In the wake of a crushing defeat at the hands of ruthless Mongol invaders, noble samurai Jin Sakai must sacrifice everything to protect what’s left of his home and people. As he embarks on an epic adventure for the freedom of Tsushima, he must set aside samurai traditions, embrace unconventional methods, and forge a new path—the path of the Ghost.”
Ghost of Tsushima has been one of the most hotly-anticipated PlayStation 4 titles since its first gameplay demo was shown at E3 in 2018. The game will combine elements of stealth, close-combat, and open-world exploration, and is set in 13th-Century Japan.
The trailer can be viewed above, ahead of the game’s release on July 17.
