Future and Lil Gotit Join Forces Once Again for "What It Was" Single
Produced by D. Hill.
Following their recent collaboration on Hood Baby 2, Future and Lil Gotit join forces once again, this time for a new single entitled “What It Was.” The track, which is currently only available on YouTube, has been teased by Gotit for some time. Even rappers like Lil Uzi Vert gave his co-sign for the previously unreleased record, which contains scratchy trap productions from D. Hill.
The beat has several moving parts that create a melody when blended together. The track features Future primarily, rapping “I done came out the gutter, I came out the street/Got my dawg off the leash, got the cutter on me/I been drinking on mud and they crucified me.” Gotit also joins the track, referencing several recreational habits, being a self-described “hood baby,” and missing out on love.
Although Lil Gotit’s Hood Baby 2 recently released, Future’s High Off Life debuted at number 1 on Billboard 200 a month later in May.
