adidas Constructs Classic Silhouettes From Vegan Materials
Featuring the Samba and Continental 80 sneakers.
adidas Originals has returned to two of its classic silhouettes for new vegan updates. Both the Samba and the Continental 80 make up part of the “Our Icons go Vegan” pack, which sees the two sneakers constructed from a PU-coated recycled polyester upper.
Additionally, the Continental 80 also features a midsole produced from an algae-based EVA foam. This innovative material also helps to clean at least 30 liters of polluted lake water through its production process.
Both silhouettes come in signature colorways, with the Samba dressed in “Cloud White” and “Core Black” atop a gum sole, while the Continental 80 sports “Cloud White/Collegiate Navy/Scarlet.” The only details declaring the sneakers vegan credentials are embossed patch towards the heel and a special “adidas Originals Vegan” footbed logo.
