'World Of Warcraft' Is Getting Another Board Game
Based on the original ‘Small World.’
Since its birth, all the way back in 2004, the massively-popular MMORPG World of Warcraft has spawned a whole range of tabletop games ranging from board games to card games, and now, another one is arriving thanks to a brand new partnership between Blizzard and Asmodee’s Days of Wonder.
The new game will be based on the original Small World board game, but unlike its recent releases, the WoW version — aptly dubbed Small World of Warcraft — will be a standalone, reskinned version. As its name suggests, the game is based in a world too small for the competing factions and races inhabiting it, which set off in a war to fight for resources and ultimately survival. Designed for two to five players, each session will run for anywhere between 40 to 80 minutes. More specifically, each player will command two different races, combining racial bonuses. There’ll also be new legendary landmarks and artifacts that provide various power-ups and buffs, keeping the game more competitive and strategic.
For those interested, Small World of Warcaft will be available sometime this summer, with a price tag of $60 USD.
