TDE's Punch Delivers New Single "Pay No Attention to the Man Behind the Curtains"
Detailing his behind-the-scenes role at the coveted record label.
Following a slew of material from the likes of Reason, Ab-Soul, Zacari, Lance Skiiiwalker, and Isaiah Rashad, Top Dawg Entertainment president and rapper Punch recently decided to join in on the TDE Fan Appreciation Week, delivering a brand new track titled “Pay No Attention to the Man Behind the Curtains.” Teaming up with Nick Grant and Lyric Michelle for the Hari-produced cut, Punch continues to showcase why he’s the top dog at the coveted record label, delivering some introspective bars that coincide with his behind-the-scenes role.
“Never mind that man behind the curtain/He workin’ his magic, the cards dealt wasn’t perfect/Shuffle the deck ’til the right ones surface,” he raps over the old school-tinged instrumental. After delivering the first three verses, Nick Grant finishes off the cut with his own flair. “Pinot noir glasses, Top Dawg mafia/Play possum when I pop at you n****s/Yeah, they left me for dead but I’m Michael in ‘Thriller,’” he raps.
