Chance The Rapper Joins Brandy for New Single "Baby Mama"
An ode to mothers everywhere.
Brandy is preparing for the release of her first album in eight years with “Baby Mama,” the project’s lead single featuring Chance The Rapper and produced by Hit-Boy.
“Baby Mama” hears Brandy and Chano paying their respects to all types of moms, celebrating their strength, independence and undying love for their children. “The inspiration for Baby Mama was of course my daughter and how she makes me a better person. I wanted to do a song about her and speak to all baby mama’s out there that may feel like they can’t make it or they can’t push through, you know, if you use your child as an inspiration you can do anything and I want to everybody to feel that,” Brandy said in a statement. “I have to give Chance The Rapper a huge shout out, he spit a really really dope verse on it and I’m so pleased with it.”
Brandy released the new single in partnership with Warrick Dunn Charities to raise funds for Homes for the Holidays, a nonprofit organization that works with affordable housing providers to “reduce the financial burden on single parent homeowners by fully furnishing their new house, providing down payment assistance, and stocking the pantry with food and other household necessities.”
