Following the release of their Peter Hook and Georgia-featuring “Aries” last month, renowned virtual band Gorillaz has now shared a tribute track for the late Tony Allen titled “How Far?” The new track, which taps the late Afrobeat pioneer as well as grime MC Skepta, comes just days after Allen passed away in Paris.

“The track was written and recorded with Skepta in London just before lockdown and is being shared immediately as a tribute to the spirit of a great man, Tony Allen,” a press released shared. Gorillaz’ Damon Albarn was a close friend and collaborator to Allen for several years. Both of them were part of supergroup The Good, the Bad & the Queen, and also worked together on Rocket Juice & The Moon as well as Albarn’s African Express musical group and non-profit. Albarn most recently contributed to Allen’s 2017 album, The Source.
