N. HOOLYWOOD Rejoins Vans for Premium Old Skools and Apparel
Understated shirts and mixed material sneakers.
N. HOOLYWOOD frequently partners with American brands — often heritage labels like Timberland and New Balance — for collaborative footwear and wearables. Now, the Japanese imprint is rejoining Vans for a seasonal assortment of understated, premium clothes and Old Skool sneakers.
Daisuke Obana, N. HOOLYWOOD’s founder, is obsessed with American culture, particularly Californian subcultures. This manifests in his company’s latest Vans partnership which upgrades a skate staple with a blend of smooth black cow leather and matching suede panels, atop a classic white midsole.
Contrasting white stitching interrupts the proportions, with a co-branded insole, complementary waxed laces and a Union Jack-branded box (inspired by Obana’s recent trip to London) completing the design. Six bespoke cotton shirts accompany the shoes, crafted to exacting standards to be ideal for skating or lounging. A boxy, relaxed fit is bolstered by neutral monochrome shades, laden with “OFF THE WALL” branding and Vans’ skateboard logo.
