Nike React Vision "Black Asparagus" Boasts Vivid Accents
Tones both earthy and vibrant appear atop the mesh upper.
Nike Sportswear‘s React Vision has appeared in a curiously-monikered “Black Asparagus” makeup. Part of Nike‘s D/MS/X sub-label alongside other conceptual silhouettes like the Air Force 1 React D/MS/X and Ghoswift, the React Vision’s avant-garde nature and lifestyle-geared build are both put on full display by the “Black Asparagus” palette.
Uppers feature a trim and low-slung base layer, built of synthetic orange and grey material that’s ensconced in an athletic black mesh shell. This shell equips a silver-outlined Swoosh on each side, and is given structure by an extended grey TPU heel clip. Around this heel clip sits fuchsia taping and a grey foam heel tab, which rises above the orange-trimmed collar.
A lion’s share of the details, however, are present on the layered eyestays. Using leather and suede alike, this stacked assemblage offers orange, fuchsia and black above a grey tongue and thin black rope laces. The cacophony of colors crescendoes with a woven grey/black tongue tag.
Down below, white React foam midsoles present technical tooling with raised shapes that look like extended versions of a capitalized E. Orange rubber on the heel and forefoot alike increases durability in high-wear areas to complete the look.
The Nike React Vision “Black Asparagus” is set to release via Nike SNKRS Korea on May 14, and retails for $140 USD.
