Nike Blazer Slip Joins the "Planet of Hoops" Pack
Slim in style, ample in astral accouterments.

Nike Sportswear‘s “Planet of Hoops” pack aims to prove that basketball is a universal game, and the latest silhouette to join its ever-expanding folds is the Blazer Slip. A low-cut slip-on iteration of Nike‘s classic Blazer, this Blazer Slip may be slim in its stylings but it’s ample in its astral accouterments.
Built of white leather, the uppers are trim and sleek. The laceless throat is left totally unadorned save for small perforations on the raised “eyestays,” and this simple look provides a base for a galaxy’s worth of “Planet of Hoops” embellishments. Lateral Swooshes are dressed in navy blue, and feature a speckled print that’s replicated on the blue foxing, blue half of the two-tone midsole and grey forefoot bumpers. This speckled splatter glows brightly in the dark, ensuring no vibrance is lost when the lights go down.
Medial sides discard the layered Swoosh for a simple perforated iteration, but add a a “The Court Planet of Hoops” hit in purple and green. There’s also a curved red arrow that points to a green star on the left shoe’s toebox, and “Planet 80016S” is embroidered across both heels in silver thread, with conceptual rear paneling adding further texture. Printed insoles add hidden flair, and outsoles complete the look with a simple white rubber build and herringbone traction pattern.
The Nike Blazer Slip “Planet of Hoops” will release via Nike SNKRS China on May 15, and is priced at ¥699 CNY (approximately $99 USD). It’s a women’s style, but will be available in an extended size run.
