A$AP Ferg Revisits Trip to Australia in New "Some Type of Way Freestyle" Visual
“This is hookah vibes right here.”
A$AP Ferg has spent his time in coronavirus quarantine helping his hometown community. Late last month he released his “Value” music video, donating food to the first response workers at Harlem Hospital Center while showcasing the surreal and jarring images of empty neighborhoods throughout the city’s boroughs. Now the Trap Lord returns with his “Some Type of Way Freestyle” music video, a stand-alone project consisting of found behind-the-scenes footage of his last tour in Australia.
The black-and-white offering was shot by Jared Leibowitz and edited by Derek Matar. Producer YOUAGOODKID slows down the tempo for this one with a vocal sample looped, chopped and screwed. Ferg is caught up in his feelings, rapping about love lost and working through negative emotions. He raps, “I’ve had brighter days, but I’m straight/ Like Rich Homie Quan, I feel some type of way/ I’m kinda tight today, I can’t fake/ Seen a little text of you in the press with a photo of you and your date/ One of the angry emoji face/ Tryna get me jealous, but I won’t break/ Why you so reckless? Why you wanna play?”
Ferg was also one of the more recent prominent figures to appear on Architectural Digest‘s home tour series, giving the publication a first-hand look at his New Jersey mansion. Late last year he wrapped up his Floor Seats EP with two visuals for “WAM” and “Jet Lag.”
