Chromat x Reebok Zig Kinetica Collection Draws Inspiration From Sea and Space Exploration
Accompanied by a fully virtual lookbook, conceptualized and created in quarantine.

After debuting collaborative iterations of the Zig Kinetica during its SS20 presentation at New York Fashion Week, Chromat and Reebok have now officially presented their latest collection. Arriving in three colors, the brand’s take on the Zig Kinetica draws inspiration from deep sea and space exploration — while continuing to examine themes of gender and identity.
Done up in “Vector Navy,” “Solar Yellow” and “White,” all three makeups feature a textured upper with dashes of secondary color appearing on the quarter slits plus the tongue and midfoot’s branded hits. Flecked laces add a dash of flair over the throat as well. Midsoles present ombre-style fades and a semi-translucent build. They’re also are constructed of a three-piece system — Floatride Fuel, ZIG Energy Shell, and ZIG Energy Bands — for maximum comfort and energy return.
The collection is accompanied by a fully digital lookbook created by Pussykrew, a New York-based Polish CGI artist duo. Nodding to the virtual nature of human connection in the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the artful, eerie renders were created and conceptualized during quarantine to drive their inspiration home even further.
The Chromat x Reebok Zig Kinetica collection is available now via Chromat, and will hit the Reebok webstore come May 22. Retail for each pair is set at $120 USD.
