The Comedy Store and Fellow Comics Raise Over $100,000 USD With Three-Part Podcast
Dave Chappelle also makes a surprise appearance.
The Comedy Store has raisedover $100,000 USD for struggling comics in the time of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Comedy fans will also be delighted to learn that the Los Angeles stand-up comedy venue’s three-part podcast featured a surprise appearance from the great Dave Chappelle.
The Mark Twain Prize winner appeared in the podcast’s final segment (approximately at the 2:45:25 mark) following the likes of Chris D’Elia, Andrew Santino, Tom Segura and Whitney Cummings. Speaking to Neal Brennan, Bill Burr and Donnell Rawlings, they touched on life on the road, collaborating with the late Charlie Murphy and the production of Chappelle’s Show.
The Comedy Store has been closed due to the pandemic, however the venue confirmed that it will continue to pay its staff and regular comedians.
