rum.gold Finds Direction in Sophomore EP 'aiMless'
Featuring a guest appearance from Jamila Woods.
Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter rum.gold dropped off his sophomore EP, aiMless. Clocking in at just over 15 minutes, the soul/R&B project features a single guest appearance from Chicago songstress/poet Jamila Woods on “Waiting For.”
Speaking to Billboard, aiMless is rum.gold’s exploration of the effects of traumas that have been passed down from previous generations. In order to clear one’s self of these traumas, he notes that there’s a painful process that includes learning about the past. “You can’t know where you’re going until you know where you come from,” he said. “I feel like aiMless is just me trying to figure out where I come from, and just to know where not to go.”
