Rick Owens Keeps it Androgynous With Futuristic Chelsea Boots
Textured with smooth Italian calf-hair.
Rick Owens has just unveiled its Grill Kiss Chelsea Boots, one of the footwear highlights from the label’s expansive Spring/Summer 2020 collection. The shoes come with a raised foundation, embellished with a series of futuristic details as well as long-lasting materials.
Made in Italy, the boots boast buffed calf-hair for a smooth and delicate texture, accentuating its slim, high-ankle construction. The piece sees a large stretch cotton panel that covers most of the upper heel and extends down to the lower midsection. A long leather backstay keeps the fabric together, topped with a short pull tab. To contrast the rustic textures of the uppers, the boots come with a tall transparent platform heel and a thick midsole, complemented by an industrial bumper “grille” at the toes.
