Mykki Blanco Drops Ethereal "You Will Find It" Track With Devandra Banhart
The first song off of the rapper’s upcoming album.
After dropping their debut LP Mykki back in 2016, Mykki Blanco has enlisted Devandra Banhart for the first song off their new album. Titled “You Will Find It,” the track opens with ethereal instrumentals and develops into a hymn in which Blanco explores self-love, self-discovery and self-knowledge. With an atmospheric aura interspersed with periodic synth throbs, the FaltyDL-produced track serves as a spiritual journey for Blanco, who describes the track as a “light hearted mini meditation amidst all the current noise.”
“I lit that sage, I lit that sage, I lit that Palo Santo/ Lady Gaga on my radio, it’s Alejandro,” they rap, while Banhart repeats “You need to find it, you need to find it” with haunting vocals. “I could honestly say a lot about this song — I mean Devendra not only sings on the record, but he plays,” Blanco explained in a press release. “He’s not just a feature, he is now in the blood of the song, he’s a part of the composition…I felt like I had this capsule of really good energy and I needed to release it now and not wait but let the vibe be felt now in this really anxious moment.”
