Baauer Announces Sophomore Album, Shares Chaotic Visual for "Planet's Mad"
The “Harlem Shake” producer’s latest project arrives on June 5.
Baauer, the producer behind the ultra-viral “Harlem Shake,” has announced that his sophomore album, Planet’s Mad, will arrive on June 5 via longtime label LuckyMe. The new project follows the Philly native’s 2016 debut, Aa, which featured a slew of excellent cameos from the likes of Novelist, Leikeli47, M.I.A., G-Dragon, Pusha T, Future, and Rustie. Today he’s given fans a taste of the new project, releasing a Actual Objects-directed music video for the project’s title single, “Planet’s Mad.”
The new song continues to showcase Baauer’s pedigree for underground dance bangers, offering up a throttling bassline alongside blaring synths and punchy snares. The visual for the track was built in video game engines, taking viewers through New York City as the world rapidly turns into an otherworldly dystopia. Fans can also catch a glimpse of “Magic” during the video’s latter half, which offers a less brash, more melodically-aligned set of sounds.

In case you missed it, Baauer and Channel Tres recently tapped Danny Brown for a song titled “Ready to Go.”
