James Blake Covers Beyoncé & Joy Division, Performs New Song "Say What You Will"

James Blake is continuing his run of livestream performances from home, recently taking to Instagram TV to showcase a range of covers from the likes of Beyoncé, Ray Charles, Joy Division, and more, equally debuting a new song titled “Say What You Will.” His most recent livestream performance included covers of Radiohead, Billie Eilish, and Frank Ocean, with this one equally featuring a diverse range of artists.
In the session, Blake covers Beyoncé’s “Forward” from Lemonade (around the 28:20 mark), a song Blake collaborated on with the R&B superstar. He also covered Ray Charles’ “Georgia on My Mind” (around 5:10) and Joy Division’s “Atmosphere” (around 16:40), equally playing o some of his classics like “Life Round Here” and “Retrograde.” Blake also debuted some new material, a melancholic new track titled “Say What You Will.” About the new track, Blake shared that “It’s about being ok with the place you’re at, and maybe not quite where you intended to be, but ultimately coming to peace with how you are and what you are.”
