James Blake Shares Skeletal Live Cover of Radiohead's "No Surprises"
Performing the rendition during a self-isolation livestream.

After covering Frank Ocean’s “Godspeed” and Billie Eilish’s “When the Party’s Over,” British songsmith James Blake has now offered up a skeletal live rendition of Radiohead’s “No Surprises,” livestreaming the performance from home as he fends off cabin fever during self-isolation. Bringing out a more stripped-back and intimate sound, Blake took to Instagram Live earlier today to play a load of original material and covers, including “Godspeed” and “When the Party’s Over,” as well as Feist’s “The Limit to Your Love,” Bill Withers’ “Hope She’ll Be Happier,” and more.
However, the standout of the session was undoubtedly Radiohead’s “No Surprises,” which starkly showcases that Blake himself seems to have a little bit of Thom Yorke in his own musical DNA. Taking on the classic track, Blake showcases his signature piano prowess, driving forth shadowy vocals that give Yorke a run for his money.
