adidas' Torsion X Receives Spring-Ready Archival '90s Colorway
“Solar Yellow” piping makes a dominant appearance.
adidas has given its futuristic Torsion X model a ’90s-inspired colorway with the release of its “Blue/Cloud White/Solar Yellow” iteration.
The BOOST-equipped sneaker taps adidas’ archives by adding this trio of colors to its multi-textured upper. A base of white mesh is coupled with blue suede paneling to form the wavy, unique shapes found across the upper. Further use of blue suede can be found on the eyestays, on the rear-quarter towards the heel, and on the tongue too.
Contrasting the white and blue is “Solar Yellow” piping that wraps around the shoe. It weaves through the eyelets and up to the top of the shoe, around the back serving as a heel tab, as well as underneath the shoe in an X-shape. This not only serves as a nod to adidas’ Ozweego from 1998, but also provides stability and structure to the sock-like silhouette.
More stability comes in the form of a TPU midfoot bridge and its protruding rubber sole unit. Rounding off the pair is a “Solar Yellow” ring highlighted on its tongue, as well as some transparent three stripes on the side panels.
