It’s been three years since Sevdaliza released ISON, the riotous debut album that placed her at the top of the artistic totem pole, presenting an unmatchable blend of everything from trip-hop to alternative R&B. The Iranian-Dutch singer, songwriter, and producer then went on to release The Calling EP, which featured seven tracks that carried forth her magnetic style. Earlier this year, Sevdaliza premiered her latest protest song “Oh My God” with HYPEBEAST, and has now christened fans with yet another new track titled “Lamp Lady.”

Produced alongside longtime collaborator Mucky and consulted by Noisia’s Nik Roos, the new track continues to exhibit Sevdaliza’s signature mix of avant-pop, electronica, and trip hop. The track begins with a mesmerizing guitar riff setting the stage, with Sevdaliza opening “Lamp lady selling tangerines, and/With the loving eyes of God/Drift back to the sun.” As her haunting poetics unfold so does the instrumental, whereby trappy basses and percussion meet subdued keyboards and poignant strings.

You can stream “Lamp Lady” below.

For more new music, Purity Ring has shared two new tracks.
