Prathyush Devadas Imagines a Bugatti Hyper Truck Concept
A look at the future of cargo shipping.
Concept cars are a great way to offer a glimpse into the future of the automotive industry, and even though most never come into production, they nonetheless have inspired a wide variety of new features and technologies. Most often, however, concept designs will revolve around high-performance sports cars, so it’s very refreshing to see a completely different genre now being designed by Prathyush Devadas, a senior designer at the Chinese firm Dongfeng.
Re-imagining the semi, Devadas has digitally created what the cargo truck could look like if produced by French performance vehicle manufacturer Bugatti. Unlike its contemporary predecessor, the Hyper Truck here comes in the form of a single, sinuous, elongated body that connects directly with a suspended cockpit for a single driver. It sits on eight wheels, with two up front, and six at the rear to support the full weight of the cargo, while a front chin bumper and body lines running down its laterals pay homage to the historic steam engines.
