Medhane's New Track "Cling" is Laced in Hazy Synth Grooves
With accompanying visuals shot entirely on an iPhone.
After just unveiling his project FULL CIRCLE from last month, Medhane is back with a brand new one-off track — “Cling.” As heard in the previous eight-track project, the Brooklyn rapper has been known to rap over dream-like instrumentals that blend seamlessly with his unique vocal cadence, and “Cling” is no exception, bringing his immaculate flows once again to a lucid, midtempo beat.
Clocking in at one minute and 45 seconds, Medhane’s new track was produced by redlee, laced with a lush arrangement of hazy synths, chimes, heavy 808s and crisp drums. Medhane comes through with a laidback flow, penning lyrics like “feel the power when it hit me” and “couple cups put me on the moon.” The song is also accompanied by a stripped-back music video, shot entirely on an iPhone by matter research in the kitchen of a friend’s house. As a final note, the song ends on a catchy hook that Medhane repeats a second time, leaving the rest of the track, approximately 45 seconds, to soak in the sounds of ethereal instrumentals.
