Air Jordan 2 Receives Asymmetrical "Multi-Color" Makeover
A quirky retro-inspired makeover.
After dropping its “BHM” iteration of the Air Jordan 2 last month, Nike has unveiled another bold take on the retro silhouette, this time giving it an assymmetrical “Multi-Color” makeover.
Boasting bright colors of purple, red, green, yellow and orange, this particular colorway has been constructed with a number of different materials like patent leather, full-grain leather, nylon, mesh, cotton and rubber for added textural contrast. Starting at the top of the shoe, “AIR JORDAN” branding is stamped at the tongue over subtly perforated leather. Square quilting appears at the lateral side of the upper collars, contrasted by perforations on the medial, while “NIKE” appears at the upper backstay. The sidewalls come with a sleek nylon overlay placed between the collars and forefoot, followed by pebbled full-grain leather at the toebox and glossy patent leather at the toecap.
While each foot comes with mismatching colors, there are still some areas that share consistency: the black laces, mesh tongue and rubber heel counter. All of these details sit atop a retro cream-colored ivory midsole that’s accompanied by a thin black outsole.
The Air Jordan 2 “Multi-Color” will be available at Nike’s website on March 5, 11 p.m. EST for $190 USD.
Most recently, rumors of a release for the Off-White™ x Air Jordan 4 “Bred” have surfaced.
