Yohji Yamamoto‘s daughter Limi Feu has designed a womenswear line since 2000, proving popular enough to expand into various flagship stores and malls across Japan, enjoying some crossover appeal with select genderless items. Perhaps the brand’s biggest crossover hit to date had nothing to do with clothing, however: Limi Feu’s collaborative Converse sneaker was explosively popular when it launched in 2017, encouraging the designer to revive the silhouette for 2020, accompanied by a new collaborative model.

Offered in an identical makeup to the original partnership, the collaborative low-top sneakers slightly warp the familiar Chuck Taylor detailing. In particular, the rubber toe is rendered asymmetric, angled to cover the lateral side eyelets. Contrast stitching lends gentle contrast to the black canvas uppers, furthered by metal eyelets. The new high-top iterations uphold these design cues, bolstered by “LIMI FEU”-branded laces. React-infused insoles are cushioned for all-day comfort, emblazoned with co-branding to reinforce the collaborative design.

Limi Feu’s low-top Converse model is available on the international Yohji Yamamoto web store, while the new high version will arrive on April 5. All are offered in unisex sizes, with the low-top currently available for approximately $240 USD.

Meanwhile, Feu teased a forthcoming collaboration with WIND AND SEA — seen below — which recently introduced its own NEIGHBORHOOD collaboration.
