Fivio Foreign Shells out Infectious Ad-Libs on "Lightwork Freestyle"
The latest from the Brooklyn drill upstart.
Brooklyn’s drill scene has seen a meteoric rise over the past year thanks to the likes of the late Pop Smoke, 22Gz, and Fivio Foreign. Fivio, the tongue-rolling spitter who flew onto the scene last year with his UK-tinged BIG DRIP EP, most recently released his Rich The Kid collaborative track “Richer Than Ever,” equally featuring on Tory Lanez’ “K LO K.” Now the Brooklyn rapper has returned, teaming up with UK’s Pressplay Media for “Lightwork Freestyle.”
With the beat commanded by Yoz Beats, who brutalizes the track’s backdrop with a gritty double tempo baseline, Fivio offloads his character ad-libs as he shells out street-heavy bars like “They said kill ‘em with kindness/so I wrote ‘kindness’ on a bullet.” Throughout the freestyle, Fivio’s fast-paced energy remains on full display as he highlights his adlibs.
