Looking to the past, as we do so often these days in the sneaker world, the Air Jordan 1 Hi ‘85 is often revered as the most accurate re-construction of Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe. Now, it’s making a return in a “Varsity Red” colorway. The true-to-the-original silhouette is a flip of the OG “Banned/Bred” Air Jordan 1s and salutes Michael Jordan’s original Air Jordan 1. On StockX, the shoe currently sits at an average sale price of $790 and is trading at an expectedly high 220.5% over MSRP.

With a combination of black leather quarters and toeboxes with bright red overlays, the “Varsity Red” flips the “Banned/Bred” palette on its forefoot and midfoot, leaving the heel, collar and signature red Swoosh unchanged. Additionally, a sail midsole and red outsole keep the shoe clean with the sky-high collar providing a look to the classic detailing of the shoe. The “Varsity Red” also comes packaged in individually numbered dust bags, nodding to its limited production run of 23,000 — which is, of course, a nod to his number 23. Rounding out the shoe, the hangtag sees a special feature added to it, adorning a memorable press photo of MJ soaring for the dunk that would later serve as the inspiration for the iconic Jumpman logo.

Head over to StockX now to secure the Air Jordan 1 Hi ‘85 Nike Dunk Low before it’s too late.
