Radiohead Shares Extended Version of "Treefingers"
Just in time for the 20th anniversary of their momentous album, ‘Kid A.’
Radiohead is continuing their mission of freely releasing their rare content, this time sharing an extended version of their instrumental track “Treefingers.”
While the experimental track hears no detectable change in the song’s sonic structure, the newly released version is noticeably one minute longer than the original, now clocking in at four minutes and 45 seconds. “Treefingers” initially appeared on the band’s fourth studio album Kid A — a significant project for Radiohead as it marked an absolute change in the band’s sound. The 10-track project, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this 2020, heard the five-piece move away from the rock base of predecessor OK Computer and more towards electronic and ambient music, integrating the heavy use of strings, synthesizers and drum machines.
