Orville Peck Returns With Ambitious Eight-Minute "Queen of the Rodeo" Short
From the masked cowboy’s 2019 breakthrough LP ‘Pony’.
Masked cowboy Orville Peck returns with a new music video for his single “Queen of the Rodeo” from his 2019 record Pony out now via Sub Pop Records. The Canadian country singer showcases the full camp and pageantry of a modern-day rodeo through warmly lit, 70s-tinged cinematography complete with bucking broncos and a performance of another one of his standout cuts in “Roses Are Falling”.
Directed by Austin Peters, the ambitious new visual short has a runtime of just over eight minutes, and follows Peck’s “Dead of Night” and “Hope to Die” offerings from last year. The man of mystery is also slated to go on a lengthy five-month tour spanning North America, starting this March 9 with appearances at Coachella, Bonnaroo and Stagecoach music festivals.
