100 gecs Connect With Charli XCX, Rico Nasty and Kero Kero Bonito for "ringtone" Remix
From the production duo’s upcoming rework album.
Rising experimental pop duo Laura Les and Dylan Brady, better known as 100 gecs, have teamed up with Charli XCX, Rico Nasty and Kero Kero Bonito for the new “ringtone” Remix, a rework of their breakout track from last year’s 1000 gecs LP. The single previews the group’s upcoming compilation of remixes and reworks, 1000 gecs & The Tree of Clues due out later this year.
“ringtone” follows other remixes like “money machine” featuring A. G. Cook and “745 sticky” by Injury Reserve. The latest release is a sporadic and glitchy three-and-a-half minute soundscape with a catchy refrain from Charli XCX, as she sings, “my boy has his own ringtone, it’s the only one I know, it’s the only one I know,” in front of high-pitched vocal samples and 80’s video game-inspired blips. Rico Nasty gets her very own beat-switch too, an electric guitar power ballad that contrasts her auto-tuned singing in the best way.
Listen to 100 gecs’ latest remix and stay tuned for 1000 gecs & The Tree of Clues in the near future. In more music news, Real Estate returned with a new track “The Main Thing” from their upcoming album of the same name, due out February 28.
