Louis Vuitton's "The New Formals" Collection Reimagines Business Accessories
Exploring form and function.
Louis Vuitton has unveiled its latest collection of men’s leather goods dubbed “The New Formals.” Revealed in a Johan Sandberg-shot lookbook, Louis Vuitton is set to introduce 7 shapes including 3 new leather styles later this year, each envisioned under the artistic direction of Virgil Abloh.
“The New Formals” collection is effortlessly elegant, combining archetype design tropes from Abloh’s vision for LV alongside traditional business accessory components. As a result, the house’s business-lifestyle customer has been reimagined as one who values form and function, providing them with a briefcase that is made from black premium leather sporting an all-over grey LV monogram, squared at the edges in the same fashion of recent LV bags.
Elsewhere, the label presents a Steamer PM satchel made from supple, embossed LV monogram leather, incorporating the house’s now-signature hardware chain in matte black. Other notable additions include a travel-focused business bag that features large structured pockets on the front alongside orange D-ring hardware, as well as the sophisticated smooth tan-brown leather business bag.
