Universal Works Offers Mountain-Ready Garments Alongside Pyrenex

Following the launch of its recycled clothing initiative with The Pilgrm, Nottingham-based Universal Works has partnered with French label Pyrenex for a 10-piece capsule.

For over 160 years, Pyrenex has produced some of the best natural down in the world from their factory in South-Western France, close to the Pyrenees mountain range. Thanks to its production of high-quality feather and goose down — a by-product from the local farming industry — their products have been tried and tested on some of the world’s highest mountain ranges.

For Fall/Winter 2020, both brands have fused their expertise in down outerwear and contemporary menswear to create a unique collection, taking inspiration from modern styles, and old classics. This capsule also draws inspiration from mid-century art and 1970s ski wear.

Comprising 6 down pieces — each boasting 850 fill power — the collection features an oversized outdoor mountain jacket based on one of the Pyrenex’s classic styles, an overshirt based on the classic Universal Works Cabin Jacket silhouette, and a down-filled Waistcoat with a sports-style collar. Each garment arrives in two colourways with contrast asymmetric panels.

Accompanying the down pieces are four pieces in a super soft moleskin, a true Universal Works fabric staple: the Bakers Overshirt and the Military Chino, both available in olive and navy.

The Universal Works x Pyrenex collection is available from December 2 at 16:00 GMT from the Universal Works webstore.
