Ottolinger's Charitable Hand-Dyed Sweaters Support HELP REFUGEES/CHOOSE LOVE
100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to the charity.
Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient’s progressive label Ottolinger is supporting HELP REFUGEES/CHOOSE LOVE with its latest capsule collection which comprises three 100-percent hand-dyed and embroidered sweaters.
HELP REFUGEES/CHOOSE LOVE was founded in 2015 in response to the humanitarian issues in Calais, northern France. It now supports over 120 projects in Europe, the UK, the Middle East and on the US-Mexico border, helping to meet the needs of refugees and displaced people by providing search and rescue boats to help people to safety. Additionally, the organization offers food and legal support, as well as safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ refugees and unaccompanied children.
Ottolinger’s founders felt that the charity was right for their brand because of its connections to Greece. In a statement, the founders said, “As our production is mainly based in Greece we wanted to give back to this country so 100% of profits from these sales will help to raise funds for hot water and hot showering during winter times in refugee camps on Greek Islands.”
The jumpers in question are made from 100-percent hand-dyed wool and feature hand-embroidered decorations such as the black love heart-shaped balloon on the front of each piece. On the rear of the blue sweater, the brand adds the statement “Ottolinger Forever” in a contrasting gray tone, embroidered in a font that echoes the brand’s avant-garde tendencies.
All three Ottolinger for HELP REFUGEES/CHOOSE LOVE sweaters can be seen above and purchased on the brand’s website now, retailing for €485 EUR each (approx. $585 USD).
