Tinder Reveals Its "Year In Swipe" Dating Report On Gen-Z Users
The BLM movement reigned supreme.
Tinder has just released its year-end report giving a look at some of its data-backed findings for 2020. Looking at its Gen-Z users, the dating app company has assembled a list of top trends experienced this year.
Leading this year’s “Essential Trends” was the support for the BLM movement with phrases like: “If you don’t support BLM, we aren’t gonna work.” The number one spot was followed by pandemic-related requests in users’ bios like the concerns for hygiene and masking wearing. Also sitting among the top five trends seen from Gen-Z users was the incorporation of TikTok mentions. The incorporation of TikTok and being “TikTok Famous” grew eight times in 2020.
On top of defining social and political stances, the data also reveals the top songs on Tinder. The top spot goes to Cardi B’s “WAP,” followed by Drake and Lil Durk’s “Laugh Now Cry Later,” and DaBaby feat. Roddy Ricch’s “ROCKSTAR.”
