New Balance's 'KAWHI Christmas' Capsule Inspired by the Mythical Snow Wasset

Following the releases of his “Seismic Collection” and collaboration with Jolly Ranchers, Kawhi Leonard has intentions of providing “Fun Guy” fanatics with more products this month in the form of his “KAWHI Christmas” collection. The holiday-inspired assortment features his signature New Balance KAWHI basketball silhouette that will drop alongside a duo of holly jolly crewneck sweatshirts, all of which draw inspiration from the Snow Wasset — a mythical beast that traverses through the snow and ambushes his prey, much like Kawhi does on the court with his tenacious style of play.

Glacier-esque characteristics land on the hoop kicks’ upper half as bold and bright shades of blue alternate between its various synthetic paneling on the toe boxes, mid-section and heels. Snowy accents outfit the majority of the midsoles as well laces, ankle collars and tongues, the latter of which is decorated with a beast-like claw icon holding a basketball.

The apparel pieces entail two sweatshirts that come in either grey or white colorways, both of which feature a Christmas tree made of Tiffany-blue colored basketballs atop the phrase “Santa Klaws” — a pun that merges holiday essence with the two-time champion’s defensive nickname.

The KAWHI Christmas signature shoe and sweatshirt will be sold exclusively at New Balance and through Foot Locker brands starting December 11 with MSRPs of $80 USD for the sweater and $160 USD for the sneakers.
