NBA YoungBoy Is Working on Himself in New Single "How I Been"
Released just a week after “Blow Yo’ Rocket.”
NBA YoungBoy is evidently on a mission to end his year on a high note, dropping his newest track “How I Been” just a week after “Blow Yo’ Rocket.”
The Baton Rouge rapper delivers a melodic offering laid on top of a hopeful piano-based beat. Utilizing the heavy use of auto-tune, NBA YoungBoy narrates a more optimistic story that hears him positively speaking of a woman he loves while bettering himself. Despite the arguments they get into and an on-again, off-again relationship, he only hopes that she’s being treated right. “Countin’ money, workin’ on myself / That’s if you wonder how I been / Wishin’ if you there with someone else / I hope they love you like I did,” he sings in the chorus.
“How I Been” also arrives with an accompanying music video directed by Rich Porter and assisted by NBA YoungBoy. The visual sees the rapper both on stage and at home, either performing for a lively and packed crowd or carrying literal stacks of money around his house.
