Kawhi Leonard's New Balance KAWHI Drops In Regal Black and Gold
A title-worthy colorway for the Klaw’s pursuit of an NBA Championship.

After a disappointing early exit from the playoff bubble in September, Kawhi Leonard and his Los Angeles Clippers have their collective eyes on the prize — an NBA Championship — this season. With an Opening Day victory over the Los Angeles Lakers under their belt things are off to a good start, and Leonard’s effort will be bolstered by a new black and gold colorway of his signature New Balance KAWHI.
Unlike Leonard’s decidedly stoic personality the KAWHI has often been loud and vibrant, with makeups drawing inspiration from Jolly Ranchers and mythical snow creatures. However, this black and gold pair presents a stark upper with just a few trophy-ready details. Gold graces the tongue’s spellout logo, the large New Balance hit on the heel, the #2 accent above the toeboxes and the list of Kawhi’s accomplishments on the throat.
From a performance standpoint, the KAWHI uses Kinetic Stitch technology on the upper for a seamless fit. Down below, midsoles combine NB’s Fuel Cell cushioning system with a full-length performance plate for a feel that’s simultaneously cushy and responsive. Clear rubber outsoles that show the front half of this plate provide all-court grip and complete the look.
The New Balance KAWHI in black and gold is available now on the New Balance webstore, and is priced at $160 USD.
