It goes without saying that Black Mamba left an impact on the court that was beyond influential to the game — all the way down to the sneakers he’d laced up every evening before he left it all out there. The Los Angeles Lakers’ legendary sneaker legacy will continue to grow with the announcement of the release of the Kobe 6 Protro “Grinch” right in time for Christmas and the Holiday season. In celebrating the release of another mythical shoe from the late-great phenom and to honor his memory, GOAT has created the Kobe 6 Sneaker Collection on their platform. The Zoom Kobe 6 Protro “Grinch” initially released in 2010 as part of the Nike Basketball Christmas Day Collection and now returns for the first time in ten years. Here are the most iconic Kobe 6 shoes, available now on GOAT.

Zoom Kobe 6 Protro “Grinch”

Zoom Kobe 6 Protro

Release Date: December 24, 2020
Lowest Price: $310 USD

The Nike Zoom Kobe 6 Protro “Grinch” brings back a beloved colorway initially released in 2010 as part of the Nike Basketball Christmas Day Collection. Updated with contemporary Zoom Air cushioning technology, the sneaker features the eye-catching aesthetic of the original, highlighted by a vibrant green finish on the upper. Polyurethane ‘islands’ cover the synthetic upper, mimicking the texture of snakeskin while also providing added durability.

Zoom Kobe 6 “Dark Knight”

Zoom Kobe 6 Protro

Release Date: November 21, 2011
Lowest Price: $320 USD

Inspired by Batman aka ‘The Dark Knight,’ this 2011 Nike Zoom Kobe 6 “Dark Knight” was an adversarial colorway that followed a Joker-themed Kobe 6 from earlier in that year. The shoe featured a dark grey upper with black polyurethane snake-scale detailing, a blue glow swoosh and fierce red Kobe branding on the dark grey leather tongue. The upper is supported by a Phylon-injected black midsole with forefoot and heel Zoom Air units and a black outsole with Blue Glow and Chilling Red at the heel.

Zoom Kobe 6 All-Star “All-Star”

Zoom Kobe 6 Protro

Release Date: February 17, 2011
Lowest Price: $400 USD

In conjunction with Nike’s LA All-Star Pack from 2011, this Zoom Kobe 6 “All-Star” dropped as part of four-piece Kobe 6 pack celebrating Los Angeles, the host city of that year’s midseason exhibition game. This red and black colorway, reflecting the uniform of the Western Conference squad, is the actual shoe that Kobe wore during the All-Star Game. Unique details include a hologram-like graphic on the tongue and custom All-Star insoles. Equipped with a classic snakeskin texture throughout the upper, it pays tribute to Kobe’s nickname, ‘Black Mamba.’ The shoe’s dual-layer memory foam sock-liner creates a personalized fit, with unique details including a hologram-like graphic on the tongue and custom All-Star insoles.

Zoom Kobe 6 “FTB”

Zoom Kobe 6 Protro

Release Date: April 5, 2016
Lowest Price: $650 USD

In honor of Kobe Bryant’s retirement from the NBA, Nike released a thirteen pair “Fade to Black” collection. The Zoom Kobe 6 “FTB” was designed in response to Bryant’s visit to Manila where he played a pick-up game with some locals. The sneaker features River Rock snakeskin designs on the upper with a synthetic heel counter for support and a leather branded tongue. The low-top also sports Zoom Air technology in the midsole for energy-returning cushioning.

Zoom Kobe 6 Supreme “Chaos”

Zoom Kobe 6 Protro

Release Date: April 9, 2011
Lowest Price: $200 USD

Inspired by DC Comics villain The Joker, the Nike Zoom Kobe 6 Supreme “Chaos” features a distinct purple and green color scheme. Released in 2011, the model sports a snakeskin-textured upper with a chameleon finish and purple laces. Volt green is used to highlight the side Swoosh, Kobe sheath logo, and outsole, white red adorns the liner and speckling at the midsole.

Zoom Kobe 6 “Draft Day”

Zoom Kobe 6 Protro

Release Date: May 26, 2011
Lowest Price: $1,000 USD

The 1996 NBA Draft saw the Charlotte Hornets trade the 13th overall pick to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for center Vlade Divac. The Lakers would use that pick to select Kobe Bryant, and to pay tribute to those events, the Zoom Kobe 6 “Draft Day” emerged in a Hornets-inspired colorway. The white snakeskin-textured upper is accented by a Varsity Purple Swoosh and laces, while Photo Blue emerges on the heel counter, lining and midsole.

Zoom Kobe 6 “Lakers Home”

Zoom Kobe 6 Protro

Release Date: October 1, 2011

Nicknamed the “Lakers Home” edition, the purple and yellow design is distinguished by a white synthetic upper with silver snake scale texturing throughout. Other signature details include two-tone laces, purple Zoom-cushioning embedded in the midsoles, and yellow Kobe Sheath logos, Swooshes, and speckling.
