Italian Fashion Group OTB Rumored to Acquire Jil Sander
The label could be joining Maison Margiela and Marni.

Originally founded in 1976, Jil Sander has been acquired by a handful of fashion groups. Sold to Prada Group in 1999; then London-based Change Capital Partners, 2006; and finally Tokyo’s Onward Holdings Co. Ltd., 2008, the brand appears to be once again finding itself in the hands of a new company. Italian fashion group OTB — which owns labels like Maison Margiela, Diesel and Marni — reportedly has plans to acquire Jil Sander.
OTB has established a diverse portfolio under the leadership of Renzo Rosso over the years. The new addition will serve to widen OTB’s scope in the current fashion market as it aims to scale up its business. According to sources, OTB has been working to find new ways to make its products and operations more sustainable, so diversifying its portfolio with the acquisition may complement that strategy. Further details of the reported buyout remain scarce.
