BAIT Releases Its Second 'Beavis and Butt-Head' Capsule
Matt Gondek gives the characters a deconstructive pop-art makeover.
The hit MTV animation, Beavis and Butt-Head, finds itself with another collaboration with BAIT this holiday season.
Following the success of their 4/20 capsule, BAIT has partnered with deconstructive pop artist, Matt Gondek to reimagine the duo on a new apparel line. His style of art leans towards the dissected and twisted versions of popular cartoons, drawing creativity from manipulating a structure’s skin, features, and non-linear shapes.
Gondek’s reworking provides an unprecedented perspective of the crass pair, even adding to their iconically crude humor. His unique and comical approach to popular subject matters makes his collaboration with Beavis and Butt-Head an automatic match.
Both Gondek and Beavis and Butt-Head enthusiasts can find a comfortable line of T-shirts and Sweaters within this collection. The hooded sweater comes in a staple black colorway with either a classic white or neon green reflective print of a Beavis silhouette on the back. Beavis’ distorted face and hollowed-out eye socket immediately draw the attention of any passerby. The front of the sweater dons a collaborative crest alluding to the BAIT and Gondek partnership. The collection also features a Crewneck Sweater in Black. The graphic includes both Beavis and Butt-Head sitting on the couch, unphased by their exploding skulls and its remnants scattered across the front of the sweater. Fans can opt for the punny Short Sleeve T-Shirts in a classic white or sky-blue colorway which catches Beavis and Butthead in the middle of a spray can battle. Butt-Head can be seen successfully targeting Beavis’ causing his face to melt away, revealing his skeleton as the spray makes contact with his face. The word “master” is sprayed above the BAIT name, an on-brand pun for this collaboration.
Products range from $32 USD to $70 USD and are now available online at BAIT and at all BAIT US Chapter stores. The capsule will be released at BAIT Japan at a future date and announced on BAIT Japan’s Instagram.
In case you missed it, BAIT just launched their Street Fighter capsule with KOKIES.
